Alpe Adria Trail – walking in garden Eden from the highest peak of Austria – Grossglockner, through slovenian’s valleys, vineyards to the seaside in Muggia in Italy. Three countries, three cultures, three languages – fascinating.
Day 1
Arrival in Kranjska Gora – Hotel Kompas summer and winter holiday resort. Hotel is hikers friendly. Short briefing regarding programme before dinner.
Day 2
After breakfast walking by small lake Jasna to the Vršič pass. Short break ar Rusische chapel which was bulit as a memory for rusische war prisoners who built the road. Ascent to the Vršič pass: 3 hours, plus 800m, moderate. Nice views on Mountains Prisojnik, Mojstrovka, Trenta mountains. Stip descent to Trenta valley- to hut by Soča spring and than along Soča river to Info Centre of Triglav National Park with museum. 3 hours of descent and minus 900m. Overnight. Possible lunch on Vršič pass and dinner near Info Centre.
Day 3
After breakfast easy walk along Soče river with beutiful views on river cascades, gorges. 6 hours, minus 200m to Bovec – Apartments Skok – overnight. Possible dinner near apartments.
Day 4
After breakfast walking throgh village to the nice waterfall Virje and then descent to Soča river. Walking along the river all the Way to Camp Koren in Kobarid known by 1st World War Museum – biggest in Europa. Overnight in camp cottages. Dinner possible in camp or in village.
Walking time 6 hours, plus 200m, minus 400m.
Day 5
After breakast short transfer to Drežnica village and than hike on the trail below Krn massive to mountain hut Kuhinja. Possible lunch. Descent to Tolmin through forests and last part along Soča river.
6 hours, plus 600m, minus 800m.
Day 6
After breakfast visit of Tolmin gorges, two rivers point. Transfer to Kranjska Gora.
